Sunderland have completed the signing of Nilson Angulo, with the forward bidding an emotional farewell to Anderlecht after his deadline day switch on Monday evening.
The Ecuadorian joins for an initial £15 million, with a further £2.5 million in potential add-ons. The player said in a post that he was grateful to the club for opening doors and helping him realise a childhood dream of playing for a major European side.
He also thanked team-mates and staff for their trust and daily work, crediting them with his development and calling it a pleasure to share the dressing room.
He praised the supporters for their constant backing through highs and lows, wished them success for the future, and signed off with a purple heart emoji.
Before sealing his Premier League move, he registered six goals and seven assists in 22 Jupiler Pro League outings this season, underlining his reputation as one of the division’s most promising attacking talents.
