Xavi Hernandez is already being dismissed as a possibility as Chelsea’s next manager by sources claiming it’s just agent talk.

The story of Chelsea’s manager hunt is set to dominate the next few weeks and months, and this week saw a new candidate emerge.
Former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez was raised as a possibility by Miguel Delaney in the Independent. Today, a report from TeamTalk says that the talk has all been “driven by intermediaries” rather than coming from the Spaniards camp.
Xavi “has shown no active desire to take a job in England at this stage.” The 46 year old seems to have agents mentioning him just to get his name back on people’s lips as he looks for a new role.
We have no idea how accurate this reporting is, but it certainly sounds very much in line with what we were imagining. For all Delaney claimed that Xavi fits with Chelsea’s supposed football philosophy, he doesn’t have the Premier League experience that our owners supposedly want after the disaster of Rosenior.
After two years out of the game, now is the natural time for Xavi’s agents to start putting his name out there, too.
Calum McFarlane took a day off away from his Chelsea players this week, having given them a holiday the week before.
Chelsea have players on loan they’re not sure what to do with – chief among them a South American wonderkid.
