According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks over a long-term extension for Neco Williams, with a new agreement said to be close.

The Welshman was named Forest’s Player of the Season after a standout 2025/26, prompting interest from Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Everton.

Williams signed fresh terms last year that run to 2029, and he joined from Liverpool in summer 2022 for a reported £17 million.

He has made 160 appearances for the Reds and his ability to operate on either flank has been valuable for head coach Vitor Pereira.

Centre-back Murillo agreed improved terms last month, extending his deal at the City Ground to 2030.

Midfielders Ibrahim Sangare and Nicolas Dominguez could also be in line for upgrades, with their current contracts up in 2028.

Talks over a new contract for Pereira are understood to be on hold until the new campaign begins. He has 12 months remaining on the deal he signed on his appointment in February, and discussions late last season were paused as it was viewed not the right moment to continue.
