Nottingham Forest ‘in talks’ over Givairo Read after improved bid | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest are pushing to sign Feyenoord full-back Givairo Read, with negotiations focused on narrowing the fee gap.

Forest had an €18m offer rebuffed earlier this month, then returned with a €20m package, still below Feyenoord's €25m valuation. Voetbal International reports a five-year deal with Forest is ready for the 20-year-old, who is said to be keen on the switch.

Talks between the clubs are understood to be ongoing as the Reds work to strengthen Oliver Glasner's defence.

Read captained Feyenoord in a friendly against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. He joined the Rotterdam club in 2023 after spells with Zeeburgia and FC Volendam.

The Netherlands Under-21 international has 42 league appearances for Feyenoord and has featured in the Champions League and Europa League. Manchester City and Bayern Munich have previously monitored him. Midfielder Xaver Schlager remains Forest's sole summer addition, though a few further key moves are anticipated.
