Nottingham Forest’s campaign has swung between European momentum and a relegation fight. According to Nottingham Post, season-so-far player ratings show a leading trio and several strugglers.

Vitor Pereira’s side visit Portugal after the international break for the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final with Porto, buoyed by their comeback against FC Midtjylland in the last 16.

Domestically, a 3-0 win over Tottenham last Sunday injected belief into their survival bid. Seven Premier League matches remain, with staying above the dotted line the immediate target.

Top marks go to Neco Williams, Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson at eight and a half. Ibrahim Sangare and Murillo are close behind on eight, with Stefan Ortega and Taiwo Awoniyi earning seven and a half. Igor Jesus is rated seven, helped by seven European goals, though he has three in the league.

Nikola Milenkovic has shown signs of returning to last season’s level for seven and a half. Nicolas Dominguez is on seven and a half, and goalkeeper Matz Sels sits on seven after an injury-affected term.

At the other end, Morato, Dan Ndoye, James McAtee and Dilane Bakwa are on five and a half, with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Omari Hutchinson at six. John Victor is marked five after a costly error against Aston Villa. Injuries bite too, with Willy Boly left out of revised squads and out of contract in the summer, while Nicolo Savona has had surgery and Jair Cunha is sidelined.
