Nottingham Forest are preparing a renewed move for Lucas Bergvall, with a £45m offer set to be tabled, according to The Telegraph.

Forest saw an opening proposal of about £38m turned down last week.

The Sweden midfielder is said to have told Spurs he wants to move this summer because of limited game time. After Roberto De Zerbi arrived in March, he started once and logged 112 minutes.

Tottenham have reportedly insisted the 20-year-old is not for sale, though an asking price of £45-50m has been indicated.

After Sweden’s 3-0 World Cup loss to France in the round of 32, where he started, Bergvall said his priority is regular football in his position. He added that he had been focused on the tournament and would see what the future holds.

Forest are set to sign free agent Xaver Schlager as their first addition of the window, helping to cover the gap left by Elliot Anderson after his £116m move to Manchester City, with further midfield recruits possible. Schlager would be the first arrival of the Oliver Glasner era, with the new head coach appointed last week ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
