While Spurs are not actively looking to sell the Swedish international, a transfer could be sanctioned if their valuation is met.
Despite being named Tottenham Hotspur Official Supporters’ Player of the Season for 2024/25, the ‘unstoppable‘ 20-year-old struggled for game time last term.
Since Roberto De Zerbi’s appointment in March, Bergvall has been largely frozen out, logging just 112 minutes and making only one start on the run-in.
With Spurs aggressively reshaping their midfield with the marquee arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, Bergvall is increasingly concerned his path to regular first-team football will be blocked.
Bergvall, who recently featured for Sweden at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, outlined his priorities after their exit.
He has informed the Spurs hierarchy of his desire to seek a fresh challenge that will provide a clear developmental pathway.
Signing Bergvall would be a major statement of intent under Forest manager Oliver Glasner.
Midfield reinforcements have become a priority for Forest following the record-breaking £116 million sale of England international Elliot Anderson to Manchester City.
The club are prepared to use their newly acquired funds to secure a new midfield general, but meeting Tottenham’s valuation is a significant challenge.
Spurs are believed to be seeking around £50 million for Bergvall, who is also attracting interest from Newcastle United.
