Nottingham Forest welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the City Ground on Sunday afternoon, looking to extend a sensational run of form that has transformed their season under Sean Dyche.
The Tricky Trees are flying after three consecutive victories in all competitions. Notably, this run includes a stunning 3-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield and a 3-0 Europa League triumph over Malmö FF on Thursday. They face a Brighton side sitting 6th in the table, who showed their own resilience last weekend by fighting back to beat Brentford.
Sean Dyche is sweating on the fitness of key playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White, who is a major doubt after picking up a knock. The midfielder missed the midweek win over Malmö and faces a late fitness test. The hosts remain without top scorer Chris Wood, Douglas Luiz, Ola Aina, and goalkeeper Angus Gunn. However, striker Igor Jesus is in form after scoring in Europe and is expected to lead the line.
Fabian Hürzeler has concerns over winger Kaoru Mitoma, who is struggling with an ankle injury. Veterans James Milner and Solly March remain long-term absentees. On a positive note, the Seagulls have found a new hero in Yankuba Minteh. The winger was Man of the Match against Brentford and is expected to start on the right. Danny Welbeck will lead the attack after scoring his seventh goal of the season last weekend.
The East Midlands outfit have been a revelation under Sean Dyche. Since his appointment, they have won four of seven games, losing only once. Forest are currently unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions. Furthermore, they have scored three goals in each of their last two Premier League games, including a demolition of Liverpool.
Brighton are enjoying a strong season and sit just two points outside the top four. They are unbeaten in their last three league matches. However, their away form is a concern. The Seagulls have not won an away game since the end of September. They will be desperate to avoid a repeat of last season’s visit to this ground, where they suffered a humiliating 7-0 defeat.
Nottingham Forest predicted XI: Sels; Savona, Milenkovic, Morato, Williams; Sangare, Anderson; Ndoye, McAtee, Dominguez; Igor Jesus
Brighton predicted XI: Verbruggen; Wieffer, Van Hecke, Dunk, Kadioglu; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Rutter, Gomez; Welbeck
The match will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports Cricket and Sky Sports Ultra HDR. Coverage starts at 12:30 pm GMT.
