According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Nuno Mendes (22) is closing in on signing a contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain.
Mendes’ current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2026 so PSG have been eager to tie the Portugal international to a new deal. Since joining PSG, initially on loan from Sporting CP in 2021 and then on a permanent deal for €38m one year later, has made 93 appearances for the club, winning the Ligue 1 title in each of his seasons.
A severe hamstring injury and other fitness issues limited Mendes to just six appearances in Ligue 1 last season, including just two starts, one of which came on the final game of the season.
This season, the Portuguese full-back has made 10 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and registering two assists. Whilst Mendes has once again been affected by injury this season, PSG have been keen to extend his deal and as per Romano, they are now close to doing so. The details of a deal that will run until 2029 are now being finalised.
