Francesco Camarda has struggled to adapt to Serie C football this season but as argued by Massimo Oddo, the Milan Futuro coach, this was expected.

It has been a very tough season for the Futuro side, currently rock bottom in the standings, and relegation to Serie D is a very concrete risk. Sestri Levante managed to beat fourth-placed Pescara earlier today, so the situation is now incredibly dire.

Camarda was expected to be one of the leading lights for the team this season, getting consistent playing time against older players. However, between featuring for the first team and the Futuro struggling in attack overall, it hasn’t panned out that way.

Speaking to the media after yesterday’s defeat against Arezzo, as transcribed by MilanNews, Oddo shared his thoughts on the striker. He made it clear that a period of acclimatisation was always needed, not just for Camarda but also the other youngsters in the team.

“He’s 16 years old, it’s not like he goes down to Serie C and changes the balance. He has to cultivate his talent, but it’s not like he comes here and scores 4 goals per game. He tries to do his part, just like Coubis or Bartesaghi,” he stated.
