Official: Barcelona announce new goalkeeper signing | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday announced the latest addition to the club’s first-team squad.

The player to have put pen to paper on terms with the Blaugrana? Wojciech Szczęsny.

Goalkeeper Szczęsny has of course seen his name take its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for over a week now.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Pole had been contacted by the Barcelona brass, over the possibility of a joining of forces.

After Blaugrana no.1 Marc-André ter Stegen was struck down by a long-term knee injury, Szczęsny, not attached to any club, was quickly sought out as the German’s replacement.

And, as alluded to above, on Wednesday, such endeavours on the part of the Camp Nou hierarchy have officially borne fruit.

As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms:

‘FC Barcelona and the player Wojciech Szczęsny have reached an agreement for his incorporation until June 30, 2025.’
