Chelsea yesterday announced two new signings to the Under-18s team.
First up is Jashayde Greenwood, a striker who has come in from Wolves. He has one goal in 7 appearances for them this season.
He’s also been an England international through various youth levels, up to the Under 16s, for whom he debuted at the start of this year. He has 3 goals in 6 appearances for them.
Fabrizio Romano writes up Chelsea’s signing of Riley Ebho.
While Greenwood looks a promising player, his new teammate is even more highly regarded. Right back Riley Ebho has signed from West Ham where he was a regular for their Under-18s last season despite being just a schoolboy.
The Hammers were desperate to keep him, and there was interest from a number of clubs, but Chelsea have managed to persuade him they’re the best next step for him.
It was notable that Fabrizio Romano mentioned the Ebho signature but didn’t say anything about Greenwood.
Both players will join Hassan Sulaiman’s Under-18s, who have made a superb start to the new season, racking up four wins and a draw from their opening 5 games in the Under-18 Premier League. Both players will expect to feature right away, having both played regularly at this level already.
Welcome to Chelsea!
The Chelsea first team are looking to made additions too, with Malick Fofana of Lyon a name that comes up a lot. The Blues will have to shed some wingers first if they want to sign him, and we look at who they could sell in an article here.
On the subject of wingers, Estevao has been left out of Brazil’s starting XI for their game against Japan today, improving our chances of seeing him this weekend when we face Nottingham Forest.
