AC Milan have officially confirmed the termination of Divock Origi’s contract, bringing an end to the Belgian striker’s spell at San Siro.
Origi joined Milan in the summer of 2022 as an attacking reinforcement following the club’s Scudetto triumph. However, his time in Italy never truly took off.
A combination of injuries and difficulties adapting to Serie A meant the former Liverpool forward struggled to make an impact, despite scoring two goals that were widely regarded as among the highlights of Milan’s season.

After just one campaign in red and black, Origi spent the following year on loan at Nottingham Forest, but that experience also proved disappointing. Upon his return, the 1995-born striker remained under contract at Milan but was effectively sidelined, training away from the first-team project.
In the past few hours, the situation was resolved definitively. With just six months remaining on his deal, Origi agreed to a mutual termination, allowing him to become a free agent after three and a half years on Milan’s books.

The Rossoneri confirmed the decision in an official statement published on their website:
“AC Milan announces that it has mutually terminated the contract with striker Divock Origi. The Club wishes the player all the best for the future.”
Origi is now free to seek a new club as he looks to revive his career away from San Siro.
