Official | Rennes sign Yassir Zabiri from Famalicão

Rennes have secured the signing of Famalicão striker Yassir Zabiri (20) on deadline day, the Ligue 1 side has announced. Rennes agreed to a reported €10m transfer fee with Famalicão. The Moroccan striker, who has scored four goals in 12 appearances in the Liga Portugal this season, particularly distinguished himself at the last Under-20 World Cup, where he shone, scoring five goals, including two in the final against Argentina, to lead his team to the title.

Rennes were in the market for a young centre-forward after parting ways with Academy graduate Kader Meïté, who left his formative club to join Al-Hilal. Zabiri has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Stade Rennais, where he will wear the No. 77 jersey. Rennes play Marseille this Tuesday in the Coupe de France.
