According to Turkish-Football.com, Okan Buruk has confirmed Victor Osimhen is back with the group and mentally ready for Galatasaray’s Champions League meeting with Atletico Madrid.
Osimhen returned to Istanbul on Monday evening after helping Nigeria win AFCON bronze, then rejoined first-team training. Despite the gruelling tournament, he has come back with a competitive edge.
Galatasaray expect defensive reinforcements too. Ismail Jakobs is due to arrive in Türkiye on the morning of the match and will be in the squad. Gabriel Sara faces a late fitness test and, if he clears the final session, is expected to feature.
Not all news was positive. Singo is ruled out, and Arda remains sidelined with a physical complaint. Even so, the growing options are seen as a lift for the dressing room and staff.
Before AFCON, Osimhen was prolific in Europe, scoring six goals in four Champions League outings. Galatasaray will lean on that pedigree.
With the holders of the Turkish title pushing for the knockout stages, Buruk is counting on him to find that edge quickly. Against Atletico, the return of their focal point could be decisive in Istanbul.
