Liverpool had a spell of bringing through local players in the late 1990s and some went on to achieve greatness with the Merseyside club.
Jamie Carragher, a born and bred Liverpudlian, broke through the Reds' youth team ranks and signed his first professional contract with the club in October 1996.
Despite being a well-known Everton fan, Carragher gave his all to Liverpool during an impressive 17-year career.
The one club man was a central figure in Liverpool's 2004/05 Champions League victory and also helped the Reds to lift the FA Cup and EFL Cup twice.
A no-nonsense player who was surely one of Liverpool's best-ever defenders.
