Ousmane Dembélé (28) and Désiré Doué (20) have both left the France camp after sustaining injuries during Friday night’s win over Ukraine, according to a report from Le Parisien.
Les Bleus’ 2-0 win over Ukraine in Poland on Friday night came at a cost. Doué came off injured at half-time. The Paris Saint-Germain forward suffered a calf injury and was replaced by Dembélé, who had suffered a hamstring injury the previous weekend.
However, Dembélé too succumbed to injury. The former Stade Rennais winger injured his hamstring (not the same one that he had injured in last weekend’s 6-3 win over Toulouse) and was withdrawn on the 80-minute mark. It is a blow for PSG, who, as per L’Équipe, are “furious” with France’s management of Dembélé in particular.
Both left the stadium in Wroclaw hobbling, and Didier Deschamps was pessimistic about the pair’s chances of playing against Iceland on Tuesday. As expected, both players have now left the France camp and will undergo tests on their respective injuries.
