Palmeiras team news, Abel Ferreira without Felipe Anderson for Atlético-MG opener

Palmeiras face Atlético-MG at Arena MRV on Wednesday 28 January at 19h Brasília time in their 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro opener. Abel Ferreira will be without Felipe Anderson.

According to Nosso Palestra, the midfielder felt knee discomfort during Tuesday’s training, tests showed no injury, and as a precaution he will not travel to Belo Horizonte.

With Felipe Anderson, Paulinho, Lucas Evangelista and Figueiredo unavailable, Ferreira otherwise has almost his full squad and is expected to field his strongest side for the opener.

Probable Palmeiras XI: Carlos Miguel, Khellven, Gustavo Gómez, Bruno Fuchs and Piquerez, Marlon Freitas, Andreas Pereira, Maurício or Ramón Sosa, Allan, Vitor Roque and Flaco López.
