Lucas Paquetá will return to Flamengo earlier than the other Brazil call-ups after the World Cup, with his flight still to be confirmed and a comeback to Ninho do Urubu possible this week. According to Globo.com, the midfielder is due back ahead of schedule.
He missed the round of 16 against Norway because of a left hamstring problem sustained in the second phase against Japan. Any return during the tournament would only have been for a potential final.
As a result, he will cut short the standard 10 days of holiday to step up his conditioning at the training ground. The priority is for him to be available to face Cruzeiro in the Libertadores in August.
Flamengo had already agreed that players needing more intensive physical work would report earlier. That has applied to Arrascaeta, Saúl and Léo Ortiz.
Alex Sandro, Danilo and Léo Pereira are expected at the training centre on the 16th and will take a few days off. Arrascaeta is already working at the Ninho after his spell with Uruguay.
Varela and De La Cruz are due to return on Wednesday.
