Pedro has parked the disappointment of missing World Cup selection and, in fine form for Flamengo, was decisive against Estudiantes on Wednesday in the Libertadores. As the club’s leading scorer this year, he could make Palmeiras his most-scored-against club when they visit the Maracanã on Saturday at 21:00 in the Brasileirão.

Globo.com notes the head-to-head figures. Since 2020 he has faced them 15 times, starting 10, and has eight goals against Palmeiras.

His top tallies for Flamengo stand at nine against Fluminense, eight versus Athletico-PR and Palmeiras, and six against Madureira, Juventude, Corinthians and Vasco.

Flamengo had the upper hand over Palmeiras last year, winning the Libertadores final against their rivals and also taking the Brasileirão title. The sides are again jostling near the top of the table.

Palmeiras lead on 35 points, four ahead of Flamengo, who have a game in hand. Victory on Saturday would narrow the gap before the World Cup pause.

Kept out of the Libertadores final by arm and thigh injuries, Pedro left his mark in the 2025 return league meeting, a 3-2 win, assisting the opener, winning the penalty for the second and scoring the third.

He ended 2025 with 15 goals and seven assists in 39 matches, the club’s second-highest scorer despite interruptions. This year he has 18 goals and four assists in 30 games, an undisputed starter again, averaging 0.60 per match, above his 2023 rate of 0.57 when he hit 31 in 61.
