Vitor Pereira said that he is happy with Nottingham Forest’s performance, despite losing 1-0 to FC Midtjyland.
Cho Gue-Sung’s 80th minute strike was enough to condemn the Midlands side to a home defeat in their bid to reach the Europa League quarter-final stage.
Pereira reflected on his side’s performance after the match.
“We did everything we could to score,” he said.
“We were just missing the goals. It is frustrating that we did not score. But I am happy with my players and the supporters and we will try to keep the spirits and prepare for our next games.”
“It is difficult to explain. We created so many chances to score. Even if we were to draw, it would not have been fair.
“They had two chances, and they scored. But we had enough time and the game was there. We had the quality to win.”
“Even the rain played against us! We created good dynamics and chances to score, but the rain came and it was difficult.
We will keep the spirits and go next time with the mentality to win the game.”
In the Premier League Forest are level on points with 18th-placed West Ham and face a tough test against Fulham at the weekend.
“Now is time to rest and recover and then compete for three points against Fulham.” Pereira explained. “We will be ready in three days.”
