Wolves face a busy Championship rebuild this summer as they chase an immediate Premier League return, with departures and arrivals expected. Free agents, alongside loans and fees, are set to be a key strand of their plan.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Wolves are eyeing Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil, who is out of contract and has said he will not re-sign. He would be a smart addition given his second-tier credentials.

Josh DaSilva, 27, helped Brentford go up then settled in the top flight before injuries bit. A serious knee issue in February last year curtailed him and he has not featured this season, though he offers promotion know-how.

Axel Tuanzebe boasts multiple promotions, including Aston Villa via the 2019 play-offs, with top-flight, EFL and Serie A minutes on his record. He aided Ipswich to promotion then joined Burnley on a one-year deal last summer, while Burnley’s Josh Laurent, formerly of Reading and Stoke, has been a regular and could seek a change with Wolves heading down.

Harry Winks remains a contentious shout amid Leicester City’s drop to League One. The 10-cap midfielder cost £10m from Spurs in 2023, has 107 appearances and is out of contract as Leicester cut wages. Up front, Southampton’s Ross Stewart has 40 goals in 80 across League One and the Championship, 10 in 45 for Saints, injuries permitting, and any Saints promotion could prompt a new deal, otherwise a switch may be simpler.
