Wolves are planning a Championship rebuild, with free agents central to a push for immediate Premier League return. They aim to move early.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, they are eyeing Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil, out of contract and unwilling to sign a new deal.

Josh DaSilva, 27, helped Brentford win promotion but has played a handful of games across three seasons. After a knee injury in February last year, he signed a new deal and has not featured this season.

Axel Tuanzebe has promotions on his CV. The Manchester United graduate helped Villa up in 2019, later aided Ipswich’s rise, then joined Burnley on a one year deal last summer.

Also at Burnley, Josh Laurent fits the out of contract, Championship-ready brief. The former Reading and Stoke wide player has featured in most Premier League matches and, with Burnley heading down alongside Wolves, he may fancy a change.

Harry Winks is a contentious shout. The 10-cap England international, reportedly on high wages after a £10m 2023 move from Spurs, is out of contract this summer and, with Leicester down, Winks will be one of the departures.

Ross Stewart offers goals at this level. Southampton paid £10m after 40 in 80 for Sunderland, and despite injuries he has 10 in 45, with his future likely shaped by Saints’ promotion outcome.

Also out of contract at Southampton is James Bree. The former Villa man spent the first half on loan at Charlton under Nathan Jones and is now back in their promotion push.
