After a long 2024-25 season, the depth of PSG has been tested early on in this 2025-26 campaign. Thus far, in the attack, the Parisians saw Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé suffer injuries. However, both players have returned to the squad.

Nonetheless, with so many competitions, including international duty, PSG must ensure they have the necessary depth to withstand any injury. As a result, it is no surprise that the Ligue 1 side could potentially add an attacking player during the winter window.

According to German outlet Bild, PSG are showing strong interest in the 19-year-old attacker. The German youngster has been making waves in the Bundesliga, scoring three goals and providing one assist in just seven appearances, and he’s already featured for Germany’s U21 team.

PSG have reportedly already made inquiries about El Mala, but a deal is far from certain. The rising star have also attracted attention from European heavyweights like Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, promising stiff competition. Cologne, however, are unlikely to let go of its prized talent this winter.

Journalist Christian Falk revealed that Manchester City recently reached out to Cologne to gauge interest. PSG are closely monitoring the situation alongside Inter Milan, while Bayern Munich have made signing El Mala one of their priorities.

Meanwhile, journalist Florian Plettenberg added that several clubs are even considering a deal this summer, potentially leaving him at Cologne on loan for the rest of the season to continue his development.

Cologne are holding firm on its valuation. While El Mala’s worth is estimated at around €18 million, offers between €30 million and €40 million have reportedly been rejected, with the club determined to push for an even higher fee.
