PSG are set to take on Brazilian champions Flamengo in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final on Wednesday.
The European and South American powerhouses will battle for the international trophy, in a contest that brings together one of Europe’s elite clubs and the standout side from South America in 2025.
Luis Enrique goes into the decider with several fitness issues to manage in his Paris Saint-Germain squad. Skipper Marquinhos is still out with a hip problem and has been ruled unavailable for the meeting with Flamengo, while first-choice right-back Achraf Hakimi is sidelined by an ankle sprain picked up earlier in December and is now in a race against time to be ready for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ousmane Dembélé, the current Ballon d’Or holder, has rejoined full training after shaking off the viral illness that kept him out of PSG’s goalless Champions League stalemate with Athletic Bilbao. Even so, his involvement from the start is not guaranteed, as a stop-start campaign and repeated fitness setbacks have left him short of rhythm.
Enrique has also managed minutes carefully for some of his attacking talents in recent Ligue 1 outings. Bradley Barcola and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have mainly appeared from the bench, while João Neves has been given a breather altogether, with the trio all in line to play important roles in the final.
Possible PSG starting XI: Chevalier; Zaire-Emery, Beraldo, Marquinhos, Mendes; Vitinha; Neves, Kang-in; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia.
The match will kick off at 5pm BST on Wednesday, 17th December.
For viewers in the United Kingdom, the game will be available live through FIFA’s own platforms, with coverage provided on FIFA+ as part of the organisation’s agreement with DAZN, ensuring that Intercontinental and Club World Cup fixtures can be watched free of charge.
