Wolves are set for a huge summer transfer window as they prepare for life back in the Championship.
Wolves have endured a terrible season, with the club failing to put up a serious fight to stay in the Premier League.
After an eight-year stay in the top flight, relegation was confirmed last month, but, in truth, it has been on the cards for months, so, in theory, a lot of planning in the background should have been going on to ensure they can hit the ground running next season.
Clearly, the Wolves squad is lacking in many departments, so there are glaring issues to address, and, like all relegated clubs, they will have to make some big sales to help balance the books.

That means a very busy summer awaits, and it’s fair to say that the hierarchy at Wolves have a lot to prove to the fans given the major mistakes that have been made over the years.
For a section of supporters, interim chairman Nathan Shi should make a managerial change, as Rob Edwards has struggled, and chants against the boss could be heard in the recent draw with Sunderland.
So, it remains to be seen whether Edwards does stick around, but, either way, Wolves need to bring in quality if they are to be competing for promotion in 12 months time.
With that in mind, we look at how a dream summer transfer window could play out for Wanderers

Bringing in a new goalkeeper is likely to be a priority for Wolves, as Jose Sa and Sam Johnstone have both struggled for form, and there are doubts about their commitment.
The duo are likely to be on decent salaries as well, so departures could suit both keepers and the club, and Wolves would still have Dan Bentley, who could be a suitable backup in the Championship.
But, they would require a number one, and Radek Vitek should be on their radar. The 22-year-old is at Man Utd, where he is under contract until 2028, and he has just spent the campaign with Bristol City.
During his time with the Robins, Vitek established himself as one of the best in the Championship, and he clearly made a mark at Ashton Gate, as he scooped the Player of the Year award and the Players’ Player of the Year.
Realistically, he won’t get near the first-team at Old Trafford right now, so Wolves should try and muscle in. If it’s on loan or a permanent move, Vitek could become a key player for this new-look Wolves XI.

Improving the attack is going to be a priority for Wolves this summer, and it’s crucial that they bring in more pace, as they are lacking players who can beat their opponent.
So, Femi Azeez would be a smart addition, with the Millwall winger having enjoyed a brilliant season for the Lions.
Obviously, if Millwall go up, this is a move that won’t happen, and it may be difficult anyway, as Premier League clubs are certain to be monitoring Azeez after his 11 goals and seven assists this season.
But, Wolves should have financial power next season, and it would make sense to target the best players in the Championship. Plus, at 24, Azeez has the potential to get better, and his profile is exactly what the Black Country outfit lacks.

Another attacking player, Claudio Braga has been fantastic for Hearts this season, with his 14 goals helping them to top of the table and on course for a historic title win - and he has been named the best player in Scotland.
Again, this may be a difficult deal to do, as Hearts could be able to offer Champions League football next season, and if they win the title they have to get through just one qualifying round to reach the league phase.
Yet, we know that money talks, and Wolves would be in a position to offer Hearts a fee that represents a significant profit on the player, along with a big wage rise for Braga.
On the pitch, Braga is another that brings qualities Wolves are lacking. He is hardworking, he can score different types of goals, and he has an edge that makes him difficult to deal with.
A Premier League club may not be willing to take a chance on Braga after just one year in Scotland, so this could be the time to strike for Wolves.

The sad reality is that there aren’t many players in the Wolves squad that the fans will be bothered about leaving.
Whilst Brazilian duo Andre and Joao Gomes are popular, it’s unrealistic to expect the duo to remain at the club following relegation, and they should fetch substantial fees to help reshape the squad.
But, one player who Wolves must look to keep is Mateus Mane. The emergence of the 18-year-old has been a rare positive in an otherwise awful campaign, and he is the sort of talent that they should look to build around moving forward.
Mane’s form has dropped off over the past month or two, but that’s normal for a young player in a struggling team. Wolves will hope it’s a different story next season, and whilst we know money talks, unless the club gets a stupid offer, they should try to keep the Portuguese youth international.
As well as that, another year at Molineux could be ideal for Mane, as he should get the regular football he needs to help fulfil his potential.

Wolves’ recruitment has been very poor for a long time, and, as mentioned, there are a host of players who will leave this summer.
So, it may seem harsh to single out an individual, but Jackson Tchatchoua has seriously struggled, and he is a clear example of how Wolves downgraded over the years, having come in to replace former captain Nélson Semedo.
Even though the Championship is a lower level, it’s still hard to see Tchatchoua excelling in the second tier, and his lack of quality on the ball could be a problem for a Wolves side that will expect to dominate possession most weeks.
An exit for the former Verona man would suit all parties, although Wolves will struggle to get their money back.
