São Paulo have endured a turbulent start to 2026, with president Julio Casares resigning and Muricy Ramalho leaving his post as football coordinator. According to Coluna Do Fla, former Flamengo right-back Rafinha is being considered to take the role.
Ramalho stepped away after a recent knee operation. He declined to take a leave of absence and chose to depart.
São Paulo want Rafinha, but he has not assumed any position at the club. He enjoyed recent success at Morumbis, lifting the Copa do Brasil in 2023 and the Supercopa do Brasil in 2024.
Before that stint, he was part of Flamengo’s 2019 side under Jorge Jesus, winning the Libertadores and the Brasileirão.
Meanwhile, Flamengo face Fluminense on Sunday 25 in the fourth round of the Carioca. Kick-off is at 18:00 Brasília time at the Maracanã, with Rede Globo free-to-air and Premiere on pay-per-view.
