Rangers have completed the signing of South Africa international Olwethu Makhanya from Philadelphia Union, with the defender agreeing an initial four-year contract at Ibrox.
The 22-year-old becomes the Scottish club's eighth signing of the summer, with Rangers holding the option to extend his stay by a further 12 months. Reports suggest the deal is worth around £3 million.
Makhanya began his career with Stellenbosch before moving to the United States in 2023. After impressing with Philadelphia Union II, he broke into the senior side and went on to make more than 50 appearances in all competitions.
His performances also earned him a first senior call-up for South Africa, with Makhanya included in the squad for the 2026 World Cup. He now links up with Derek McInnes' side ahead of the new Scottish Premiership season.
