RB Leipzig confirm signing of Nigerian winger Suleiman Sani | OneFootball

RB Leipzig have confirmed the signing of Nigerian youth international Suleiman Sani from AS Trencin.

Kicker reports a base fee of €5m, with add-ons of around €1m included.

The 19-year-old is Leipzig’s first winter recruit of the current January 2025 window. He has three goals and two assists in Slovakia’s top flight this season.

Information on the teenager is limited, and even his name appears inconsistently in some coverage, with “Suleman Sane” also used.

Sporting director Marcel Schäfer set out that Leipzig view Sani as a longer-term project. The club depict a left-sided winger with notable pace, strong ball protection through his physicality, and diligent work without the ball.

Schäfer added that a permanent deal provides a head start for next summer and greater depth and variety on the flanks. Leipzig intend to give Sani the time he needs to settle into the Bundesliga.

Sani called the move a big step and a source of pride. He praised Leipzig’s record of developing and trusting young players, said the style suits him, and aims to learn daily, progress, and give his all for the team.
