In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid have identified Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven as a target. It has been revealed that Los Blancos are hoping to get a deal done for the Dutch centre-back next year.
Van de Ven missed a lot of games due to a hamstring injury, but did well to put in a string of solid displays for Tottenham on the defensive end of the field. The Dutch talent played in 22 matches for the North London club last season, securing two assists in multiple competitions.
The 24-year-old deserves some credit for making 10 tackles, 12 blocks, 10 interceptions and 39 clearances in the Premier League. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from the back after completing 90.9% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Los Blancos to sign him on a cut-price deal next year.

Van de Ven is a good tackler of the ball and has got the pace to make some important recovering runs at the back. He usually times his challenges well to make a few crucial interceptions for his team on the defensive end of the pitch.
Standing at 1.93m, the Dutch talent is a strong presence in the air as well. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed, but only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga.
Van de Ven would no doubt bring a lot of quality to Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso’s defence. He is good enough to compete for a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming years.
At 24, Van de Ven has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Los Blancos to consider in 2026. He will also help the Madrid giants compete for some major silverware in the future. Hence, Alonso should focus on going all out to bring him to the Spanish capital this January or at the end of this campaign.
