The FIFA World Cup qualifiers are bringing in some fascinating fixtures this weekend, and tomorrow’s game between Spain and Turkey is one such clash that is highly anticipated.
La Roja are one of the favourites heading into the event and boast a young and exciting squad led by versatile stars. Turkey, meanwhile have a healthy mix of youth and experience although Real Madrid’s Arda Guler, in many ways, is the team’s protagonist.
Guler has enjoyed a strong start to the new season under Xabi Alonso and his prominence for club means he enters the game on a good run of form. Needless to say, he will be one of the players on whom the spotlight will shine bright tomorrow night.
Speaking to the media ahead of Turkey’s clash against Spain, Arda Guler commented on a few topics including the game ahead and life as a Real Madrid player so far.
He first began with a wonderful quote about how it was to be a Real Madrid player and how it was an unsaid commitment for life to join the club.
“When you’re introduced as a Real Madrid player, it’s like a wedding. Your contract is for six years, but the idea is to be together for life,” he said, and no one could have put it better.

“I love the Real Madrid fans very much, and their support means a lot to me. I’ve become an important part of the team, and I won’t stop until I succeed,” he added.
The player then spoke about his interaction with Dani Carvajal ahead of the international showdown and how he had a competitive conversation with the veteran.
“I spoke with Dani Carvajal and told him how tough the atmosphere would be in Turkey, and when we return to Madrid, I’ll be the one from the winning team.”
Finally, the Real Madrid star was asked about Lamine Yamal with whom he will also lock horns tomorrow night. The player played down all comparisons and stated that they play in different roles.
“Lamine Yamal and I don’t play in the same position, our styles are different, so it wouldn’t be right to compare. He plays for Barcelona and I for Real Madrid, I wish him all the best for tomorrow.”
