Real Madrid are out of the race to sign Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Guehi was reportedly holding out on a move to Madrid, but he is now unlikely to join them.
The Palace captain, who is set to become a free agent next summer, wants a hefty salary and signing-on fee – demands Madrid are unwilling to meet.
The Los Blancos considered Guehi as an alternative to Ibrahima Konate, Dayot Upamecano and William Saliba.
Madrid are now expected to explore options as they aim to bolster their defence next summer.
Liverpool were close to signing the English defender last summer before Palace pulled the plug on the move.
The Reds have struggled defensively this season, and they retain interest in Guehi.
Having come close to signing him last summer, the Merseyside giants will hope he chooses them over other suitors.
Bayern Munich are preparing for the possible exit of Kim Min-jae and have identified Guehi as a perfect fit to bolster their defence.
The Bavarians are prepared to meet his financial demands in a bid to persuade him to join the club.
The 25-year-old remains focused on helping Palace build on last season’s success and may not decide his next move until the end of this season.
