Real Madrid have reportedly decided to activate Como star Nico Paz’s buy-back clause in January, according to journalist Gatson Edul.

Paz was expected to return to Madrid next summer, when his €10 million clause becomes active.

However, Los Blancos appear to be keen on bringing the Argentine back in the winter transfer window.

The 21-year-old has been scaling new heights at Como this season with his extraordinary performances and prolificacy.

The attacking midfielder has already racked up five goals and four assists in 12 Serie A games, putting Como in the mix for the top four.

Madrid rejected the opportunity to activate the clause last summer, allowing him to continue his development with Cesc Fabregas’ side.

Tottenham Hotspur had a lucrative proposal for Paz turned down. Inter Milan are monitoring the La Fabrica graduate, with Madrid holding 50 percent of any future sale.

However, the La Liga giants have concrete plans for Paz, who is also understandably keen on making his mark with his boyhood club.

Madrid are currently stacked with quality attacking midfielders, including Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and Franco Mastantuono.

Although Paz can operate as a right-winger, he has predominantly featured in the number ten position.

His composure on the ball, progressive passing, free-kick abilities and knack for scoring long-range screamers make him a perfect fit for Madrid.

With uncertainties surrounding the futures of Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz and Endrick, and Mastantuono recovering from pubalgia, Paz could be a breath of fresh air to Madrid’s attack.
