A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid was forced to undergo an anti-doping test in the aftermath of the club’s latest outing.

The player in question? Kylian Mbappé.

Frontman Mbappé was for his part of course back in the thick of things with Real Madrid on Saturday night.

Still recovering following a recent bout of illness, the Frenchman was introduced off the bench in Los Blancos’ Club World Cup quarter-final showdown with Borussia Dortmund.

And en route to an eventual 3-2 triumph for his side, Mbappé played a crucial role.

Deep into injury-time, the 26-year-old conjured up a moment of individual brilliance, to notch Real’s third goal of the evening and ensure their place in the CWC semis.

As alluded to above, though, post-match, Mbappé was subjected to an altogether less enjoyable experience.

As confirmed by El Chiringuito TV, the former Paris Saint-Germain standout was called for a random anti-doping test by FIFA on the back of the full-time whistle in New Jersey.

As much delayed Mbappé’s departure from MetLife Stadium by a full hour.
