Real Madrid brought an end to what was a gruelling season earlier this month, during which they played close to 70 matches.
Indeed, beginning on 14 August 2024, when they lifted the UEFA Super Cup vs Atalanta, and ending on 9 July 2025, where they fell to PSG in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final, Real Madrid played 68 official matches.
The Merengues concluded what is now considered the most exhausting season in their history, having competed in seven tournaments, winning only two of them: the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
Now, according to MARCA, to acknowledge the players’ commitment, Real awarded a bonus during the Club World Cup.
A sum of €1 million was the agreed amount had they won the tournament, in addition to the €500,000 already received for winning the UEFA Super Cup, Intercontinental Cup, and the Champions League derby.

Though financial rewards do not replace proper rest, the gesture sent a clear message: every minute of effort, every sacrifice, and every match pushed to the limit is valued.
While the players might have missed out on the €1 million bonus for winning the Club World Cup, the squad captains also negotiated bonuses for each stage of the tournament.
Indeed, as per the report, Real Madrid paid €50,000 per player for advancing past the group stage, €80,000 for reaching the quarter-finals, and €150,000 for making the semi-finals – totalling €280,000 per player in recognition of their performance in the Club World Cup.
The Club World Cup alone generated nearly €80 million in revenue for Los Blancos. So, the bonus payments will not have dented the budget in a major way.
Real Madrid will return to training at Valdebebas on 4 August for a 15-day mini pre-season before their league opener against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabéu on 19 August.
