Real Madrid star’s sale ‘put on hold’ | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have pumped the brakes on the potential summer departure of Raúl Asencio.

This comes in the aftermath of the latest injury setback suffered by Éder Militão.

Brazilian international Militão was of course condemned to a fresh long-term spell on the sidelines late last week.

After being forced into a premature departure from Real Madrid’s La Liga victory over Deportivo Alavés, a round of medical tests confirmed that the former Porto standout would require yet another surgical procedure, as a result of a serious thigh problem.

Militão could be facing up to as many as five months on the sidelines as a result.

And the significance of this impending absence has certainly not been lost on those behind the scenes at the Bernabéu.

As per a report from Marca, after the youngster’s exit had previously been agreed upon as a source of much-needed funds:

‘Militão’s injury has changed everything. The sale of Raúl Asencio will be put on hold pending developments.’
