Red Bull Bragantino assistant Anderson Marques struck De La Cruz in a post-match flashpoint after Flamengo’s 3-0 defeat, sparking a melee at Estádio Municipal Cícero de Souza Marques.
According to Coluna Do Fla, the clash came at the end of the ninth round of the Brasileirão and no sanctions were issued at the time.
Footage shows De La Cruz and Vinicinho arguing before Anderson Marques steps in and swings open-handed blows. De La Cruz slips free, then the assistant lands a strike to the Uruguayan’s face.
Anderson then holds Vinicinho as if shielding him. Rossi confronts the staff member and the scuffle breaks out at the entrance to Bragantino’s tunnel. The referee took no action.
Flamengo never controlled the contest. Isidro Pitta, Gabriel and Lucas Barbosa scored, and Flamengo offered little threat.
Flamengo now face Santos on Sunday at 17:30 Brasília time at the Maracanã, in the 10th round of the Brasileirão.
