According to Sunderland Echo, Brian Brobbey returns to lead the line against Leeds United in New Jersey on Friday, replacing Wilson Isidor in the only change from the Liverpool game in Nashville last weekend.

Régis Le Bris has named a senior-leaning XI: Ellborg, Mukiele, Ballard, O’Nien, Reinildo, Browne, Rigg, Le Fee, Hume, Mundle, Brobbey.

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has again gone with a blend of senior and academy players, with a raft of changes expected after the interval. Sunderland transfer target Tarik Muharemovic makes his first start in a Leeds shirt since opting to join from Sassuolo.

Le Bris said on Wednesday that he would stick broadly to recent game-time plans, pushing some starters to around 60 minutes, then bringing on those back from World Cup duty for roughly 30, mixing the squad. He noted there would likely be another chance against Wrexham to go close to 45-45, describing this as a general approach, not a rigid rule.

He added that the first group have begun pre-season well, carrying momentum from the last month of the campaign, which has helped reconnect with clear principles. He believes the World Cup returnees feel like new signings, joining a group already in good shape.

The second-half group is set to include academy players and recent returnees Habib Diarra, Noah Sadiki, Simon Adingra, Robin Roefs and Nilson Angulo. Jocelin Ta Bi remains absent after his visa application was rejected.
