It’s been a difficult season for Palmer, who was forced to miss virtually the entire first half of the campaign with a groin injury.

The 23-year-old returned to action in December, and has scored nine Premier League goals, including a hat-trick against Wolves.

Cole Palmer misses playing with Nicolas Jackson

Palmer has cut a frustrated figure at times this season, and some of that frustration was on show in the defeat to Everton with the England international unhappy with Pedro Neto.

The former Manchester City star signed a two year contract extension keeping him at the club until 2033, but he’s continually been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Palmer is said to be untouchable at Chelsea, but it would be interesting to see how he’d react if Chelsea fail to qualify for the Champions League again.

It’s evident Palmer isn’t completely happy with the current situation and The Sun have reported he misses playing with Jackson.

The report also adds Palmer is becoming frustrated with Liam Rosenior’s tactics as they limit the amount of space he gets on the pitch.

Jackson could play for Chelsea next season

Jackson is currently on a season loan at Bayern Munich, but the expectation is the German champions won’t sign him on a permanent basis.

The Senegal international will return at the end of the season, and it’s believed all options are on the table for the 24-year-old.

It’s thought Chelsea’s priority is to find a new club for Jackson, but it’s not been ruled out he could be reintegrated back into the squad.
