Jadon Sancho has expressed his desire to return to the Bundesliga with his Chelsea career at a crossroads according to reports.

The Blues signed Sancho on an initial loan deal from Manchester United last summer, with an obligation to buy for around £25m as long as they didn’t finish in the bottom six.

Sancho made a brilliant start to life at Stamford Bridge with a man of the match debut against Bournemouth and three assists in his first three games.

Sancho has growing desire to return to the Bundesliga

The 25-year-old scored his first goals for the Blues against Southampton and Tottenham in December, but like Chelsea his form has taken a huge dip.

Sancho has two goals and an assist since the end of September and reports emerged in recent weeks the Blues could pay a penalty fee to send him back to Manchester United, and David Ornstein confirmed on Sunday the fee was £5m.

Ben Jacobs has claimed Chelsea will likely take a decision on Sancho’s future at the end of the season, and now German publication Bild have provided an update.

They report Sancho’s desire to return to the Bundesliga is “growing daily” with Bayer Leverkusen also said to be interested in a move.

Bild add Sancho has already told his representatives he wants to return to Dortmund, the club where he established himself.

Sancho has scored 53 goals and registered 68 assists from 158 appearances across two separate spells at Dortmund, so you can understand why they would be keen to have him back.

The winger returned to Dortmund on loan for the second half of last season where he impressed as the Bundesliga outfit surprisingly made the Champions League final.

Chelsea and Sancho are thought to have a good relationship, but if he doesn’t pick his form up for the remainder of the season then the decision will be easy.
