Report: Man United have “strong interest” in “energetic” South American star

Manchester United are interested in signing the Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has done quite well since he moved to the Premier League, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Manchester United. They need more defensive cover and control in the middle of the park. The Brazilian midfielder could be the ideal acquisition for them.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, the player is being looked at as a potential replacement for Casemiro and Manual Ugarte. Casemiro is in the twilight stages of his career, and Ugarte has not been able to live up to the expectations since the move to Manchester United.

“Joao Gomes is attracting strong interest,” CaughtOffside have revealed. “United’s scouts have a strong appreciation for his energetic playing style. He’s seen as someone who could be perfect to replace Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte.”

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can get the deal across the line. The player is on the radar of Liverpool as well.

Manchester United certainly have the financial muscle to secure an agreement with Wolves. However, it is fair to assume that a move might have to wait until the summer transfer window. Wolves are currently fighting for survival in the Premier League, and they might not want to sell one of their players in the middle of the season. It could prove to be catastrophic for them in their fight for survival.

The 24-year-old will be keen on taking the next step in his career and joining a big club. The move to Manchester United could be ideal for him. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can agree on a deal in the coming months.
