With autumn upon us, it has to be time for European nights at the Red Bull Arena! Matchday 3 of the Europa League sees Hungarian giants Ferencvaros visit from Budapest.
Looking at the table, one thing is clear: we need points! After narrow defeats against Porto and Lyon, we still have no points in the league table, whereas our upcoming opponents have claimed results in both matches so far. The win against KRC Genk was secured by striker Barnabas Varga (14 goals in 17 competitive matches in 2025/26), who was plying his trade in in the Austrian Bundesliga with SV Mattersburg a few years ago.
The boys from Budapest have some big names involved, with Premier League legend Robbie Keane on the sidelines as head coach, and our former teammate Naby Keita pulling the strings in midfield. Want to check out the opponents? You can read five exciting facts about Ferencvaros TC regarding the name, the club's history, and more HERE.
Fradi warmed up for the clash in a similar manner to our 2-2 draw against Altach. The current fourth-placed Hungarian team also had to settle for a draw against Ujpest (8th) and also had a player sent off, albeit late in injury time.
What will our first competitive encounter with Ferencvaros bring? We'll see on Thursday from 18:45. Tickets for the match are available online in our Ticket Shop for those who have already registered and purchased tickets in the last three years. Important: Please remember to log in first to view the match!
The match will be broadcast on Sky Sport Austria as well as on free TV on ServusTV and ServusTV On.
As always, all important information for stadium visitors can be found in our current matchday info:
Every team competing in the Europa League has a lot of quality. Ferencvaros have already shown that, with four points after two games. We're confident enough to say we can beat the Hungarian champions. We want to show that on Thursday evening. If we want to play a role in the Europa League, we have to get points now. After the first two games against really strong opponents, we now have two home games against teams on our level. That's why these two matches are incredibly important.

Ferencvaros showed just what they are capable of in their first two Europa League matches. They not only picked up points, but also played well. They are opponents we have to beat if we want to do well in the competition. We're going into the match with the clear aim of picking up points.
