Corinthians lost 3-1 to Botafogo at Nilton Santos in the 16th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, sliding back into the relegation zone in 17th. Rodrigo Garro scored their only goal.
At 10 minutes Garro equalised, after Raniele hassled Huguinho on the edge of the box, won possession and set up the Argentine to finish first time for 1-1. Meu Timao notes the defeat reshaped Corinthians' top-scorer standings.
The strike ended a drought of almost three months, his previous goal came on 19 February against Athletico-PR. Garro now sits fifth in the club's 2026 scoring chart, level with six team-mates: forwards Lingard, Kayke and Dieguinho, left-back Matheus Bidu, midfielder Raniele and centre-back Gabriel Paulista.
Yuri Alberto remains top on six goals. He had a header near half-time ruled out after Garro's corner, the assistant signalled the ball was not within the quarter circle at the kick.
Gustavo Henrique is second with four. The podium is completed by midfielders André Luiz and Breno Bidon on three apiece.
A further six players have one this year, namely Memphis, Gui Negão, Vitinho, right-back Matheuzinho and centre-backs André Ramalho and João Pedro Tchoca.
Fernando Diniz's side visit Peñarol at 21:30 on Thursday at the Campeón Del Siglo, in the Libertadores group stage's fifth round.
