Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Virgil Van Dijk equalised for the visitors in the 51st minute. However, Ollie Watkins scored two quick-fire goals to put his team 3-1 ahead. John McGinn added another goal in the 88th minute, but Van Dijk scored again in injury time. The match ended with Aston Villa securing a dominant 4-2 win in front of their home fans.
