Mason Greenwood remains one of Roma’s top transfer targets.
Gasperini and the club are interested in the English winger, but the investment is very costly and requires careful consideration by the club.
Meanwhile, the 2001-born player is training with Marseille, but his future lies far from France.
The former Manchester United winger is waiting for a signal from Trigoria in the form of an official offer to be sent to OM.
As Corriere dello Sport reports, Greenwood intends to move to the capital, which still appears to be his preferred destination.
The deal is currently on hold, pending a move by the Friedkins, who have not yet approved a total investment of approximately €100 million, including the player’s transfer fee, multi-year salary, and commissions.
Roma’s goal is to complete the deal by July 15th, the day Marseille departs for their tour of the Ivory Coast. Meanwhile, however, some problems are arising with the English winger’s agent and father.
After reaching a preliminary agreement with the Giallorossi based on €4.5 million plus bonuses per season, he attempted to raise the stakes by asking for €1 million more. The response from Trigoria was firm: there will be no changes to the terms already agreed upon, and this is a firm starting point for Roma.
