Lyon have signed Roman Yaremchuk on loan from Olympiakos until 30 June 2026. The club said in a statement that the deal includes an option to buy worth around €5 million at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old striker has played 16 games and scored four goals for Olympiakos this season. He is expected to bring a different dimension to Paulo Fonseca’s attack.

He previously spent 2023-24 at Valencia on loan from Club Brugge, making 29 appearances and scoring four. His impact was intermittent, affected by limited continuity and a knee injury after Rubén Baraja began to place faith in him.

Olympiakos signed him last summer for €2 million from Club Brugge. He won the league, cup and super cup in 2024 with the Greek side.

Born in 1995 in Lviv, he began at Dynamo Kyiv in 2016, then KAA Gent between 2017 and 2021, scoring 61 in 152. Spells at Benfica and Club Brugge followed, and he now has more than 400 senior games, 65 Ukraine caps and 117 career goals, including appearances in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The 1.91 m forward will reunite with Clinton Mata and already knows Fonseca.
