Cesc Fabregas does not intend to leave Como at the end of the season, which means he can be crossed off the list of AC Milan candidates.
Milan are expected to change head coach again as soon as the 2024-25 campaign comes to a close, even if Sergio Conceicao is still battling to try and end what would be a six-month stint by winning the Coppa Italia, for his second trophy.
One of the names that has been linked as his potential replacement is Fabregas. Corriere dello Sport even went so far as to say that he is the ‘dream’ candidate in the eyes of the management, even if he is strongly tied to his current side Como, something which has now been reaffired.
As Fabrizio Romano reports on his X profile, Fabregas is ‘fully expected to stay and continue at Como for next season’. Despite interest from ‘top Italian clubs and a direct meeting with RB Leipzig bosses’, the Spaniard is ’keen on staying at Como’.
The former Barcelona midfielder is even ‘already planning summer signings with the management’, which shows that the club from the lake are hoping to kick on after a positive first season back in the top flight.
