The future of San Siro could be decided on Monday, as Milan city council prepares to vote on whether to approve the sale of the stadium and surrounding land to Milan and Inter.

Speaking to Il Sole 24 Ore, via FCInterNews, Milan president Paolo Scaroni made a public appeal for support, stressing that the decision represents a crucial turning point for both clubs and the city.

He argued that the time has come for action after years of discussions and delays.

Scaroni underlined that both clubs are ready to move forward with a project that would reshape not only their matchday experience but also the local area.

The plan, he insisted, is tied to a wider urban regeneration vision, not just football.

“Tomorrow is an important day for the Milan clubs, but even more so for the city of Milan,” Scaroni said.

“The current San Siro no longer meets modern needs.”

Finally, he concluded by stressing confidence in Milan’s politicians.

“I trust the good sense of the city’s political class to seize this opportunity. Both clubs are ready to invest over €1 billion in a sustainable project that will benefit the whole community.”
