The Millers sit 22nd in League One, five points behind Blackpool with a game in hand. Tuesday’s 5-0 defeat at Peterborough United led to the departure of Matt Hamshaw.

Clark’s arrival at AESSEAL New York Stadium was finalised on Wednesday as Rotherham prepare to visit league leaders Lincoln City.

A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow to present Clark, when he is due to preview the weekend fixture, his first in charge.
