Ruben Dias praises Man City’s adaptability in draw with Arsenal | OneFootball

Ruben Dias praised the pragmatism his Man City side showed in their 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

City scored through Erling Haaland in the first half but opted to try and protect that lead for much of the game, lining up in a 5-4-1 formation in the second half.

But despite Pep Guardiola’s surprising tactics, defender Dias praised the approach, saying: “Every game is different and every team is different. We have the way we play and everyone knows it so clearly but sometimes you do it different.

“Today we answered in a positive way.”

Guardiola’s side ultimately had to settle for a point after Gabriel Martinelli scored late on.

Dias was, however, enthused by the performance and put it in the context of a demanding week. “We ended the game with a good feeling,” he said. “We were close to getting three points but we have to look at the week we’ve had, the moment we’re in and look at the improvements we’ve made.

“We came and fought for every ball today. We were all connected – even in a game when we had less possession than usual.”
